Engineering college rankings are my great interest, as I studied from a private college and ended up finishing my PhD in IIT. Since 2005 I see ranking by different agencies and magazines, which never presented it from a students’ perspective.
Most of the ranking are based on some assumption and after a listing they again release revised list modifying some ranks.
Here I present a list for top ranked Engineering schools in India based on Student preference, Faculty, Infrastructure and Industry interface or placements.

I kept new IITs up in the ranking even though they are quite new because of quality of students joining and IIT Hyderabad little up in ranking because a lot of students from Andhra Pradesh make into to IITs and they prefer IIT Hyderabad over less rank IITs.

absolute shit. where the hell is IIIT Hyderabad.Just rankings on the basis of IIT brand name. Well even i was gettin all the new IIT's during my counciling. Rite now i m in NIT Allahabad , n m enjoying every bit of it !

man your rating's not practical..!!! IIT brand is what you have used to rate...The new IIT's cant stand tall against the established institutes like DCE,NIT calicut,PEC... consider your blog again..!!!
i dont agree wid u ..i dont know on what basis did u do it,there is no iiit hyd and the worst part is bits pilani at 15...completely non sense,bits pilani is better than most of the iits especially guwahati and roorkie,pl do analyse properly before giving out ur facts

I joined here as a trainee in 2008. Every year few of the new joiners r selected for perusing M.tech in Construction Management at IIT Delhi & Chennai.
The selection is done based on
Job performance, Aptitude test, Interview with IIT prof.
